The college has always enjoyed an excellent reputation in its community as a major center of higher education for full and part-time students who are looking for an affordable and value rich means of attending college or training for their future careers. However, the college website became outdated, clunky, and very much in need of an upgrade. The Inflexion team was called upon to build a web redesign strategy to upgrade the website to a modern, mobile and prospective student focus.

    An Enterprise Level Upgrade

    Supplying the college with a game plan for this new digital experience was the first priority. Raritan Valley’s website was nearly a decade old, featuring an antiquated Ektron Content Management System (CMS) solution. While replacing this CMS with our choice, which was Drupal, Inflexion began planning to simplify the overall website with a series of user experience (UX) improvements. These included collapsing many thousands of pages of overlapping and frequently redundant content down to a much more user-friendly approach. The Inflexion team integrated design and UX to develop a winning navigation-from thousands of pages to hundreds.

    The Creation Of A Unified Logo And Brand For A NJ Community College

    Raritan Valley Community College had been in need of a unified logo and an updated brand story. It was here that Inflexion stepped in to ensure that these needs were met. The company worked closely with RVCC's in-house web design team to create a new logo for the college that would reflect its NJ roots as well as its overall mission and purpose. The result was not only a new logo for the college, but also a brand standard to go with the new website with purpose-specific needs met from every audience using the site- faculty, alumni, and new students alike.

After three years of running Share My Lesson as a joint venture with TES Global—the world’s largest online network of teachers—the AFT was poised to take 100 percent ownership of the site and wanted to truly maximize its potential for AFT union members and other users.     Creating An Effective Higher Education Marketing Campaign

    RVCC was very much in need of a marketing plan that would meet their goals to:
    • Raise awareness among the local population that RVCC is an excellent choice for students graduating from high school as well as adults looking for a convenient and cost effective way to further their education.
    • Generate more applications and enrollments for RVCC's campus, Distance Learning, and Open House events.

    Using Digital Marketing To Reach A New Generation Of Higher Ed Students

    RVCC had previously focused on investing in the traditional means of advertising (TV, radio, newspapers, etc.) in the state of NJ. What our agency proved to the college was that they needed to mount a new online marketing campaign in order to expand the reach of their advertising efforts. Our response to the situation was to:
    • Create an effective, results-oriented plan of online marketing to reach the RVCC target geographic area.
    • Create a wide ranging digital marketing drive consisting of Display, Video, Social Media, and Search campaigns. This was done using a mix of demographic, behavioral, and interest targeting, assisted by a comprehensive list of specially targeted search keywords.
    • Design an optimized landing page for capturing conversions from the campaigns.
    • Establish an effective and flexible process that will allow for the testing of various creative formats in order to reach as many potential new and returning students as possible.
    To augment the digital campaign a series of local billboards in key areas of the county were also designed to increase awareness and consideration of RVCC and establish another touch point in the community.

    Applications For RVCC Are Up Across The Board

    In 19 weeks, over 17 MILLION advertising impressions were served driving applications and attendance to the annual college enrollment events.  The college is seeing:
    • First time full time applications up by 4.6%
    • First time part time applications up by 27%
    • Summer enrollments up by 8%
