D’Angelico Guitars, founded in 1932, is the New York based legendary brand made famous by John D’Angelico and his hand-crafted archtop guitars. In 2011, the brand was reborn under new ownership after spending several decades under the radar. D’Angelico needed a web agency to help communicate their iconic brand story with a responsive web design. Inflexion Interactive was brought on and together we created an award-winning website that told the brand’s story from John’s first guitar in 1905 to present day, allowing fans and prospective customers to feel as if they too are a part of the D’Angelico legend.
A few years later, D’Angelico and Inflexion were ready to take the brand to the next level.
In this new responsive website design, the focus was on the evolution of the brand. D’Angelico wanted to shift the website’s focus from their iconic brand story to the quality craftsmanship and expansion of their product line. They also wanted website visitors to easily locate retailers to purchase the guitars. Finally, the most impressive part of the redesign, D’Angelico wanted to create an online community, essentially a social network, for all music aficionados. Inflexion Interactive provided:

Within the D’Angelico website, Inflexion built a full social media platform, called “Player’s Club.” The social network lives within the D’Angelico site and is a community where musicians have their own profiles to connect and interact with those similar to them. There are personal and public newsfeeds where members can share videos, links, audio, images, etc. They can even promote their own shows and events.
The site delighted D’Angelico fans, old and new. As of May 2015, “Player’s Club” has thousands of members and continues to grow.
